Hi, I'm Ioana
"No fluff" therapy to reconnect with your true self
I am a therapist and I also know what it is like not to feel good enough, to think that you are stuck, lacking purpose and to be too overwhelmed to change anything because you do not even know where to start.
I also know what it is like to overcome these, to get to a point where you have the confidence that the relationship you want is within reach and to live feeling connected to your true values.
My job is to be a therapist but my mission is to empower you to build secure, happy and fulfilling relationships with yourself and others!

My approach
Our early life experiences shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us. From these experiences, we develop beliefs about who we are, what we can expect from relationships, and what the future might hold. When these beliefs are formed through pain, neglect, or rupture, they don’t simply stay in the past: they continue to influence how we think, feel, relate, and respond in the present.
Unhealed wounds quietly affect our relationship with ourselves and with others. They show up as self-sabotage, chronic self-criticism, emotional disconnection, people-pleasing, avoidance, or repeated relational patterns that leave us feeling stuck, confused, or hopeless.
But healing is possible.
I take a grounded, no-fluff approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based psychological models to support meaningful and lasting change. My work focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself, understand the patterns that no longer serve you, and learn how to relate to yourself and to others in ways that feel safer, more authentic, and more fulfilling.
My approach involves supporting you to:
-
Process and heal from past experiences and memories that continue to affect you in the here and now
-
Reconnect with emotional needs that may have been neglected or unmet for a long time
-
Increase self-awareness so you can respond rather than react, and stay present rather than caught in worry or rumination
-
Identify self-sabotaging patterns and learn how to step out of them
-
Create meaningful change through intentional, values-based action
-
Develop distance from harsh, self-critical thoughts that dominate your inner world
-
Build self-compassion, allowing you to relate to yourself as a human being — not a machine
-
Learn healthier ways to navigate conflict and difficult emotions
-
Feel held in a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapeutic space
-
Gain psychological insight that empowers you to understand yourself and your relationships more deeply
Your past cannot be rewritten. What has already happened is part of your life’s story. But what can change is how those experiences continue to live inside you. By healing what still feels activated, we give ourselves and our relationships the chance to grow into something more secure, connected, and fulfilling.
The focus is on you.
I am in the trenches with you; I don't just spew theory.
Nothing gives me more joy than working with someone willing and ready to explore and change some of the unhelpful ways trauma affected their lives. I am your biggest cheerleader. I am here to support you along the way, and the more effort you put in, the more I give you.
I help you make sense of repeating unhelpful patterns
I help you make sense of how what has happened to you has shaped your view of yourself and the world, as well as help you to understand your behaviours and reactions. It is not always about getting rid of these patterns, as often they have served a great purpose in your life, but it is about empowering you to make choices that align with your values.
I am not a one-trick pony
I am trained in a variety of therapies that are relational, trauma-focused and evidence-based. Whether we examine cognitive or behavioural patterns that keep us stuck using CBT, or we process stuck memories using EMDR, or we make sense of your childhood using schema and attachment theory, or even go inward and connect with our inner system through IFS, we can use what works for you.
I use a trauma-informed approach
At the heart of what I do is working using a trauma-informed lens, which often means taking into account more than just our thoughts and behaviours. It means understanding our past in context, understanding ourselves and our human needs, and working with the body to let go of trauma.
